Air Force track and field head coach Ralph Lindeman wrapped up his 21-day trip to Osaka, Japan, where he has served as Head Manager for the United States' men's track and field team at the 11th-Annual International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Outdoor Championships for Athletics. Over the past few weeks, Lindeman has taken time out of his schedule with Team USA to let Air Force fans know what he has been up to.

MONDAY, SEPT. 3
The World Championships are finally over -- nine l-o-n-g days of intense track and field action. In the end, Team USA won 26 medals, the most we have won in either World Championship or Olympic competition since 1991! That was more the next three countries combined!
The team was a group with class and character befitting a USAFA team -- several awesome champions like Brad Walker, Tyson Gay, Bernard Lagat and Allyson Felix conducted themselves as true champions, both on and off the track and field. We had no negative behavior incidents, no security breaches, no positive drug tests (although over 100 USA athletes were subjected to both urine and blood analysis), and in all we had a safe and very successful championships.
A trip to the White House for the World's number one track team should be in the offing, but right now all I can think of is getting home to my family, my staff and my team. I'll travel all day today, arrive in Colorado Springs on Tuesday night, and will be helping AD coaches and staff conduct PFT testing early Wednesday morning. Hope to see and hear from all readers of this soon!
