Four members of the Air Force Academy men's soccer team were named to the 2008 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference teams, announced Tuesday by the conference. Juniors Steven Noller and Kevin Rosser were second-team selections, while junior Aaron Eshkenazi and freshman Eric Wilson were named honorable mention. It was the first all-conference honor for each player.
Noller, a forward from Fort Collins, Colo., led the Falcons with nine points, scoring a team-best four goals and adding one assist. His four goals came in four consecutive games midway through the season, the first Falcon to score in four straight games since the 1996 season. Half of his tallies were game-winners, one in a 2-1 victory over Army and the other a 1-0 win over UNLV.
Rosser, a midfielder from San Jose, Calif. and a co-captain this season, finished second on the team in scoring with seven points. He scored one goal and dished out a team-high five assists. He also led the Falcons with 38 total shots. Rosser's only goal of the season was the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Sacramento State.
Eshkenazi, from Coral Springs, Fla., and Wilson, from Monument, Colo., led a defense in '08 that allowed just 1.67 goals per game and posted three shutouts. They both played in every game this season, with Eshkenazi starting all 18 and Wilson starting 16. Eshkenazi (1,534) and Wilson (1,530) played the most minutes by any Air Force field players this season.
Air Force finished the 2008 campaign with a 5-13 overall record and a 3-7 mark in the MPSF.
