Lissy and Robinson Earn Victories in Greeley

GREELEY, Colo. - Senior David Lissy and freshman Terry Robinson picked up first-place finishes, as the Air Force track and field team wrapped up competition at the Tom Benich Classic on Saturday, April 5. Highlighted by Lissy and Robinson's first-place finishes, the Falcons accounted for 12 top-five marks during the meet in Greeley, Colo.
Lissy recorded a distance of 55'2¼" to win the shot put, while Robinson took first in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.19. Robinson was one of two Falcons to finish within the top-five of the hurdles even, as fellow freshman Michael Vetri clocked a fourth-place time of 15.23.
Senior Troy Jensen finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.50, while sophomore Dan Paladino recorded a distance of 186'10" to take third in the hammer throw. Freshman Jon Santiago threw a 166'9" to take fourth in the javelin, while sophomore Brad Bernard earned a distance of 166'4" to finish fifth. Junior Scott Balcao also picked up a fifth-place finish, as he clocked a time of 15:58.11 in the 5000-meter run.
On the women's side, freshman Rachel Miller paced the squad with a second-place finish in the pole vault. Her height clearance of 11'1¾" is the sixth-best mark in Academy history.
Sophomore Jessica Mapes clocked a time of 26.41 to take third in the 200-meter dash, while junior Jessica Soto earned the same placement in the javelin with a distance of 118'7". Senior Tiffany Moore finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 117'4". In addition, volunteer coach 2Lt Olivia Korte finished second in the discus throw (173'3") as an unattached competitor.
The Falcons remain in-state next Saturday (April 12), as they travel to Boulder for the Colorado Invitational.
