Air Force senior goalie Brian Guyette was recently honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) with its annual All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award. The award recognizes student-athletes' dedication to strength training and conditioning.
Guyette, from Phoenix, Az., was one of 239 collegiate athletes from 165 schools honored with the award this year. He was named the soccer team's most valuable player and a first-team all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation selection in 2007.
Air Force strength coach Jeffrey Kipp, who nominated Guyette for the award, had this to say about the senior: "Brian is a leader on and off the field. He was selected as our team captain for 2006-07 and 2007-08 and as a first-team all-conference goalie."
The NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year Award program is in its 29th year and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tenn., fitness product leader.
