Paul Gensic Improves Olympic Trials Qualifying Mark

Gensic, who barely missed his attempt at the 18'8¼" clearance, defeated two of the reigning Olympic medalists in Tim Mack (Gold) and Toby Stevenson (Silver).
Prior to this meet, Gensic was ranked 20th in the country (18'3¾") and had already earned a spot in the Olympic Trials as one of the top 24 pole vaulters in the country. However, following his clearance of 18'4½", Gensic is now ranked 16th.
The qualifying round of pole vault competition at the U.S. Olympic Trials begins Friday, June 27, at 5:50 p.m. (PST). All action will take place at the historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
