Seven Falcons Receive MWC Scholar-Athlete Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Seven members of the Air Force track and field team were recipients of the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, the league office announced this afternoon (June 23). Sophomore Brittany Morreale, the lone recipient on the women's team, was joined by six members of the men's squad.
Morreale, an Academic All-District selection, boasted a 3.93 grade-point-average in physics.
Senior Kenny Grosselin, a recipient of the Air Force Student-Athlete Award and an Academic All-America certificate, led the men's team with a 3.96 GPA in mathematics. He was joined by classmates Creighton Moorman (3.80-aeronatuical engineering) and Josh van Wyngaarden (3.71-biology). Juniors Daniel Castle (English) and Justin Mason (aeronautical engineering) boasted matching 3.71 grade-point-averages, while classmate Matt Williams claimed a 3.52 GPA in behavioral sciences.
To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
