Three seniors from the Air Force Academy men's soccer team were named to the 2009 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference teams, announced Thursday by the conference. Midfielder Kevin Rosser was named to the first-team, while forward Steven Noller was a second-team selection and defender Aaron Eshkenazi was named honorable mention. It is the second consecutive all-conference honor for each player.
Rosser, a team captain from San Jose, Calif., finished second on the team in scoring with 11 points. He scored three goals, including one game-winning tally, and dished out a team-high five assists. He finished third in the MPSF in assists per game (0.36) and seventh in shots per game (2.36). Rosser, who scored his game-winner with a penalty kick in a 1-0 victory over New Mexico, was a second-team all-MPSF pick last season.
Noller, from Fort Collins, Colo., finished third on the team in scoring this season with eight points on two goals and three assists. He led the team with 38 total shots and 17 on goal. Noller, who was also a second-team selection a year ago, was fourth in the conference in shots per game (2.53) and tied for sixth in total shots.
Eshkenazi, a team captain from Coral Springs, Fla., earned his second straight honorable mention selection by leading a defense in '09 that allowed just 1.38 goals per game and posted four shutouts. He played in and started all but one game in the regular season and led the team with 1,372 minutes. Eshkenazi scored the first goal of his career this season, the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Furman.
Air Force finished the 2009 regular season with a 7-8-1 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the MPSF. The Falcons open the `09 MPSF Tournament Thursday night against Denver at the DU Soccer Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
