Falcons Claim Seven All-Conference Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Air Force track and field team received seven all-conference selections following this past weekend's MWC Championships at the Academy, the league office announced today (March 2). By finishing within the top three of their respective events, four individuals and one relay team earned all-MWC distinction.
Seniors Sean Houseworth and Kellen Curry paced the Falcons, as they each earned a pair of all-conference accolades that included at least one conference title.
Houseworth, the co-High Point Award winner of the conference meet, won the 3000- and 5000-meter races. It is the second consecutive year that Houseworth has earned all-MWC distinction in both races. Curry won the 200-meter dash, while placing second in the 60-meter hurdles. Curry has earned all-conference honors in the hurdles during each of the last three years.
Air Force also earned a pair of all-conference marks in the pole vault. Junior Nick Frawley placed second in the men's event for his fourth all-league selection, while sophomore Rachel Simmons vaulted to a third-place finish on the women's side for her first such distinction.
Additionally, the men's distance medley relay team of senior Sebastian Ortiz, sophomore Chris Severino, sophomore Tyler Stanley and senior Daniel Castle picked up a third-place time to claim all-conference honors. It is the third straight year that the Falcons' DMR has accounted for a top-three finish.
