Air Force Throwers Open Action at ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - Highlighted by a personal-best throw of 151'7" in the hammer, junior Sara Neubauer and five other members of the Air Force throwing team opened action at the Arizona State Invitational on Friday, March 27, in Tempe, Ariz. It was the only event contested this evening at Sun Angel Stadium.
Neubauer finished 15th in the even with a toss of 151'7". The junior, who made her collegiate debut in the event last weekend, improved her personal-best distance by over 11 feet to move into eighth on the Academy's all-time list. Sophomore Christina Burke placed 23rd on the event with a throw of 115'5".
On the men's side, senior David Nan and junior Dan Paladino finished 14th and 15th, respectively. Nan improved his seasonal distance to 176'5", while Paladino recorded a distance of 168'5". Freshman Robert Drye upped his best distance to 167'1" as he finished 17th, while classmate Kyle Schwochow improved his throw from last week by over six feet (103'5") to place 22nd.
