Justin Tyner Paces Falcons at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. - Sophomore Justin Tyner won the 5000-meter run, as the Air Force track and field continued action at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, April 17, in Walnut, Calif. Tyner clocked a time of 14:11.37 - the ninth-fastest time in Academy - to win the 47-runner event. He was one of three Falcons to earn top-three spots at the prestigious meet.
Senior Kellen Curry was the top collegiate runner in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 21.28 to place third overall, while junior Sara Neubauer picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the shot put (48'10") and discus throw (168'10").
Three other Falcons finished within the top 10 of their respective events. Junior Dan Paladino finished seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 187'2", while senior Daniel Castle clocked a time of 3:46.82 to place ninth in the "Olympic Development" session of the 1500-meter run. Sophomore Matt Jones placed 10th in the 400-meter hurdles (53.64), while freshman Cort Rogers tied for the third-best pole vault clearance of the meet (15'7") to finish 11th overall.
Curry and junior Nick Frawley will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays tomorrow (April 18), while the rest of the squad will take part in the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College.
