The Air Force men's soccer team closed out its 2009 spring schedule on Sunday, April 19 with an impressive 6-0 victory over CSU-Pueblo. The game was moved to Pueblo due to the snowstorm in Colorado Springs.
Five different Falcons scored in the game, with co-captain Kevin Rosser notching two goals. Steve Noller, Jared Gomez, John Tilton and Kyle Cressy also scored for Air Force. Jim Gullo was solid in the net, making a couple of saves, including a one-on-one effort with a CSU-Pueblo player.
"It was great for us to end the spring on a positive note like this," said Air Force head coach Doug Hill. "We took advantage of our opportunities with three goals on set plays and Jim (Gullo) was very strong for us. This should give us plenty of confidence entering next fall."
The Falcons ended the spring season with a 2-2-3 record, which included 1-1 ties against Division I opponents Tulsa and Oral Roberts.
"Our coaching staff is very happy with the progression of our players throughout the spring," said Hill. "Every player had a great work ethic, now we just need to work on being more and more consistent throughout an entire season."
Air Force's annual Alumni Weekend begins on Friday, May 1, with the Alumni Game scheduled for Saturday, May 2.
