Falcons Picked Seventh in MPSF Preseason Poll

Air Force was picked to finish seventh in the 2009 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation preseason men's soccer coaches' poll, recently released by the conference office.
The Falcons received 16 votes, while Denver is favored to defend its 2008 title with 47 points, including five first-place votes and New Mexico was second with 44 (three first-place votes).
San Jose State was third with 34 points, followed by UNLV (32), Sacramento State (24) and MPSF newcomer Seattle (18). Fellow newcomer Cal State Bakersfield rounded out the field with nine points.
The Falcons, under third-year head coach Doug Hill, has 10 starters and the top nine scorers return from last year's team. Seniors Steve Noller and Kevin Rosser, each a second-team all-conference performer in '08, led the team with nine and seven points, respectively.
Air Force opens its season at the College of Charleston Tournament in Charleston, S.C. The Falcons will play the host school on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
