USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -Air Force baseball begins its team fall ball practice sessions Thursday, Sept. 10, on the newly refurbished Falcon Field. Practice sessions are slated to run through Oct. 20, culminating with the three-game Blue-White Series. All Air Force baseball practices are open to the public.
The Falcons are scheduled to scrimmage on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the six-week session. The fall ball schedule wraps up with the annual Blue-White Series, taking place on Oct. 16, 19 and 20.
"I think everyone is excited to get out and start playing," head coach Mike Hutcheon said. "The fall is always a time to answer a lot of questions so that you can go into the spring with a good idea of what kind of club you are going to have and the roles that are going to be filled. With 18 freshmen and 10 of those being pitchers, we have a lot to learn."
Air Force baseball opens the 2010 season with a four-game series at Cal State Bakersfield beginning, Feb. 19.
