Falcon Baseball Begins Practices For 2010

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -Air Force baseball begins preparation for the 2010 season with its first practice of the season this Friday, Jan. 29. Despite recent snowfall, the Falcons will be able to practice outdoors with the ability to clear the entire field with the installation of a full FieldTurf playing surface.

Air Force returns 16 letterwinners and welcomes 17 freshmen for the 2010 season. The Falcons return six starters in the field, including 2009 First-Team All-American DH, senior Matt Alexander. Air Force also returns a pair of weekend starting pitchers and its top reliever.

The Falcons kick-off the 2010 season Feb. 19-21, with a four-game series at Cal State Bakersfield. Air Force's first home game is March 2, against Colorado Christian.
