Air Force Falls To Hawai'i 9-5 Sunday

HONOLULU, Hawai'i - The Air Force baseball team lost to Hawai'i, 9-5, Sunday afternoon in front of 2,757 fans at Les Murakami Stadium. The loss drops the Falcons to 5-15 and improved the `Bows to 10-9.
Hawai'i scored all its runs in just two innings--scoring six in the third inning and three in the seventh--to hold off the Falcons. The Falcons led 4-0 early on, before the `Bows big third inning.
Sophomore Blair Roberts continues to swing a hot bat for the Falcons, going 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. With the four hits, Roberts raised his batting average to .609 on the season.
Matt Roquemore led Hawai'i with three of the teams' nine hits. Starter Alex Capaul (4-1) picked up the win, pitching 6.1 innings, allowing five runs. Lenny Linsky picked up his fourth save of the year with 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
Falcon starter Sean Carley (1-2) was roughed up for six runs in two innings pitched. Reliever Alex Baker had a stellar outing for AFA, allowing just one hit in four innings pitched. Andrew Loyd, Matt Zettler and Michael Ceci also pitched in relief for Air Force.
Air Force also got two hits from Addison Gentry and Matthew Roberts.
Air Force and Hawai'i conclude the four-game series Monday, March 22. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. HST (10:35 p.m. MST).
