Air Force Downed By Wyoming, 87-60

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 87-60 game to Wyoming Wednesday night in Clune Arena. The loss dropped the Falcons to 3-25, 0-15 on the season and lifted the Cowgirls to 17-10, 7-6.
Wyoming hit 18 three-point baskets on the night, accounting for 58 percent of its field goals. The Cowgirls shot 60.8 percent from the field and 58.1 percent from three-point range.
Aubrey Vandiver led Wyoming with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Hillary Carlson scored 21 to go with nine rebounds. Emma Langford added 17 points and Jake Kennedy had 11 of the Cowgirls' 27 assists.
Junior guard Raimee Beck led Air Force with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Senior Kathleen Schjodt and freshman Alicia Leipprandt added eight points each. Freshman Kelsey Berger and sophomore Anna Gault chipped in with seven points each.
Wyoming hit 10 three's in the opening half and raced out to a 45-25 halftime lead.
The Falcons, who were held to 37 points in their earlier matchup with Wyoming, scored 23 more points in the second meeting. Air Force also had a season-low six turnovers.
Freshman guard Megan Muñiz made her Falcon debut. Muñiz scored six points off two three-pointer s and pulled down three rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.
The Falcons honored Schjodt, the lone senior on the team, prior to tipoff for her final home game.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, March 6, closing out the 2009-10 regular season at San Diego State. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. PST.
