AUSTIN, Texas - Three members of the Air Force track and field team opened competition at the 83rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday, April 1. Facing gusty winds at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus, the select Falcons competed in the women's hammer throw and the "B" section of the men's pole vault.
Senior Sara Neubauer placed 16th in the hammer throw, with a distance of 168'1. Neubauer fouled off her first two attempts, before rebounding with the 168'1" distance. Classmate Joel Nolan and freshman Chase Cooper competed in the pole vault. Both Falcons passed on the opening height, but failed to clear the bar at the next height of 16'5¼".
Action continues for the Falcons tomorrow (April 2) at the Texas Relays, with the women's javelin throw, discus throw and pole vault, as well as the men's shot put. The javelin, pole vault and shot put get underway at 10 a.m. (CST), while the discus throw is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
