Air Force Falls Friday Night At UNLV, 9-4

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Air Force baseball team dropped a 9-4 Mountain West Conference ballgame at UNLV Friday night at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 11-31, 1-10 while the Rebels improved to 22-19, 6-7.
UNLV starting pitcher Tanner Peters (5-3) held Air Force to three runs in eight innings, while striking out 10 to pick up the win. The Rebels plated runs in just two innings, but the runs came in bunches. UNLV scored three in the second and six in the fifth.
The Falcons, meanwhile, plated runs in the third, fifth, eighth and ninth. Air Force had eight hits in the game. Freshman Matthew Roberts led the Falcons by going 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Freshman Alex Bast also added two hits and two RBIs.
Air Force starter Alex Truesdale (2-6) took the loss. Truesdale went six innings, striking out six. Todd Del Toro, Matt Zettler and Andrew Loyd pitched in relief for the Falcons and did not allow a run in three combined innings.
UNLV had 15 hits in the game. Nolan Clark went 4-for-4 and R.J. Clark added three RBIs.
The Falcons and Rebels return to action Saturday, May 1. First pitch is 2 p.m. PST
