Air Force Dropped By UNLV On Saturday

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Air Force baseball team dropped a 23-8 Mountain West Conference ballgame at UNLV Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 11-32, 1-11 while the Rebels improved to 23-19, 7-7.
UNLV racked up a season-high 25 hits, with eight players recording at least two hits each.
The Rebels scored seven runs in the second inning and never looked back. UNLV also scored six runs in the seventh and eighth innings. R.J. Arnold went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs to lead the way. Hunter Beaty added three hits, a homer, four runs and four RBIs.
The Falcons had 11 hits in the game. Senior first baseman Addison Gentry led the way, going 4-for-5 with three doubles and four RBIs. Sophomore second baseman Blair Roberts added two hits and three runs. Senior designated hitter Matter Alexander also had two hits. Junior centerfielder Nathan Carter hit his sixth homer of the season as well.
Starting pitcher Kincaid Koehler (2-7) took the loss, lasting just 1.1 innings. Alex Baker, Stephen Colangelo, Jack Hourin, Ben Bertelson, Matt Zettler and Todd Del Toro pitched in relief.
Brian Gilbertson (1-0) picked up the win in relief for UNLV. Gilbertson also had two hits as the designated hitter. Starting pitcher Stephen Singer went three innings, allowing three runs.
The Falcons and Rebels wrap up the series Sunday, May 2. First pitch is 1 p.m. PST.
