Sara Neubauer Wraps Up Competition at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Air Force senior Sara Neubauer concluded competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a 15th-place finish in the shot put. Competing in front of a sold-out crowd of nearly 12,000 at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., Neubauer recorded a distance of 52'3¼" to conclude her career at the collegiate level.
Participating in the second flight of throwers, Neubauer recorded her best distance of the day (52'3¼") on her opening attempt. Neubauer recorded foul marks on her remaining two chances of the trials, ending her season. With her fifth-farthest throw of the season, Neubauer finished ninth in her flight and 15th overall.
Two-time indoor champion and reigning outdoor champion, Florida senior Mariam Kevkhishvili, successfully repeated her outdoor title with a toss of 59'5".
The 2010 season officially wraps up on June 24-27, when past and present members of the Air Force track and field team travel to Des Moines, Iowa, for the USA Track and Field National Championships. In addition to the senior-level meet, the USATF Junior National Championships will also be held that weekend at Drake Stadium.
