USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - A trip to the UCSD Triton Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., a trip to the Georgia Tech Invitational and an always challenging conference slate highlight the 2010-11 Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving schedules.
Due to renovations to the Cadet Natatorium, home to AFA swimming & Diving, the entire 2010-11 season will be spent on the road for the Falcons.
The Falcons men's team will be the first to see action during the 2010-11 season, as they head to Grand Junction, Colo., to take on host Mesa State, Adams State and Utah in four-way meet Oct. 8-9. The women's team will kick off the season, along with the men's team, at the Denver Relays Oct. 16.
The men's team opens Mountain West Conference action at TCU on Oct. 22 and then faces SMU the following day. The women's team opens MWC action facing New Mexico, Colorado State and San Diego State on Oct. 23 in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Falcons then head to Golden, Colo., to take on the Colorado School of Mines and Mesa State on Oct. 29. The women then travel to TCU on Nov. 5, then head to the Georgia Tech Invitational, Nov. 19-21.
The men's team has a full slate in November, starting with two meets on Nov. 5. The Falcons will split off and head to both Arizona State and Denver. The following day, the Falcons take on Grand Canyon. The men cap off the month at the UCSD Triton Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., Nov. 18-20.
The Air Force divers will be busy in November, as the men's diving team visits the USC Diving Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 5-6, followed by both diving teams at the Georgia Tech Invite. The women's swim team then travels to Northern Colorado on Dec. 3 for a dual.
The Falcons will train in Boca Raton, Fla., during winter break, with a meet vs. Florida Atlantic Dec. 18 mixed in. Air Force resumes action in 2011 on Jan. 14, facing Denver and UNLV in Denver. The Falcons then have conference meets at BYU on Jan. 20 and Utah on Jan. 22.
The diving team travels to the UNLV Diving Invitational Jan. 28-29. The Falcons then wrap-up conference action at Wyoming on Feb. 5. Several members of the men's team will then participate in the Colorado Senior Open Feb. 25-27 in Denver.
The MWC Championships, slated to be held Feb. 23-26, will once again take place in Oklahoma City, Okla. Shortly thereafter, both the men's and women's swimmers will head to the Austin Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, March 3-5. The NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals are slated for March 10-12 in Minneapolis, Minn., followed by the women's NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, March 17-19 and the men's NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., March 24-26.
