Two Falcons Named to Academic All-MPSF Team

Two Air Force men's soccer players have been named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation academic all-conference team for the 2010 season. Sophomores Conor Henry and Patrick Compton each made the team for the first time in his career.
Henry, a forward from Bourne, Mass., finished fourth on the team in scoring this season with six points. He tied for second on the squad with three goals, including the game-winner in a 2-1 overtime victory over Cal Poly. Henry, who appeared in all 19 games and started four in his first season with the varsity program, has a 3.56 GPA and is majoring in systems engineering management.
Compton, a midfielder from Murfreesboro, Tenn., has a 3.17 GPA in mechanical engineering. He played in 14 games and started 10 this season. He did not score but attempted 15 shots, including three on goal during the 2010 campaign.
The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation recognizes student-athletes for their academic excellence in the classroom, as well as their individual accomplishments in intercollegiate athletics for the 2010 season. Qualifying student-athletes must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better; must be at least a sophomore academically; must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution they are currently competing at; and must have participated in 50 percent or more to their institution's competition in their particular sport.
