Falcons Fall to New Mexico, 1-0

Lance Rozeboom scored the game's only goal on a penalty kick in the 28th minute to lead the sixth-ranked New Mexico men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Air Force Sunday afternoon in front of 4,781 fans in Albuquerque, N.M. The Lobos improved to 11-0-2 overall and remained perfect in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation at 5-0, while the Falcons fell to 7-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in league play.Rozeboom scored his second goal of the season by placing the PK past Falcon goalie Matt Underwood, who made six saves during the game. Lobo keeper Victor Rodriguez made three saves. New Mexico took 13 total shots compared to 10 for Air Force and UNM held a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.
AFA's Kevin Durr and UNM's Devon Sandoval each posted a game-high three total shots and two on goal.
The Falcons stay on the road next weekend in San Jose, Calif., to take on San Jose State on Friday, Oct. 21 beginning at 5 p.m.
