Falcons Come Up Short In Exhibition Versus UCCS

USAFA, Colo. - After a sluggish start to the game, the Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 66-65 decision to UCCS in an exhibition Wednesday evening at Clune Arena.
The visiting Mountain Lions led by as many as 21 points in the first half before the Falcons cut the margin to 42-27 at the intermission. Air Force began to slowly chip away at the lead, but was never able to get closer than two points until a basket from senior captain Jamela Satterfield (Sacramento, Calif.) at the final buzzer.
Junior Alicia Leipprandt (Ubly, Mich.) led the Falcons with 18 points, including 14 in the second half, while sophomore Camille Thompson (McDonough, Ga.) added 15 points and a team-best four assists. In addition, sophomore Michelle Ivey (Stone Mountain, Ga.) grabbed 11 rebounds.
Danielle Brown scored 14 points to lead UCCS, while Jessica Brown added 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Air Force officially opens the 2011-12 season next weekend, Nov. 11, when it travels to Nashville, Tenn., for a non-conference match-up versus Lipscomb.
