Cross Country Places 10 on Academic All-Conference Team

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force cross country team placed 10 of its members of the Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference Team, the league office announced this morning (Feb. 10). The squad, represented by seven men and three women, collected the second-most honors of any fall sports at the Academy during the recent 2010 season.
The men's honorees included one senior, one junior and four sophomores, while the women's selections included one junior and two sophomores. Senior Tyler Small, junior Katie Carroll and classmate Ryan Del Grosso are each making their third appearance on the academic all-conference list, while sophomores Jen Bremser, Jeremy Drenckhahn, Kate Kanetzky, Gage Owens and Andrew Quallio are all making their second. Fellow sophomores Ted Artz and Matt Bell are making their first appearance on the academic all-conference squad, with Artz leading the Falcon runners with a 3.87 GPA.
A total of 386 student-athletes were named to the fall 2010 academic all-conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball. To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
Air Force had 33 cadet-athletes collect academic all-conference honors during the fall.
