The Air Force men's tennis team wraps up its five-match season-opening homestand this Sunday, Feb. 13 against the New Mexico State Aggies at 12 p.m. The match will be played on the AFA Indoor Tennis Courts and is free to the public.
Air Force is 4-0 and off to its best start since the 2005 season after defeating Eastern Washington, 4-3, last Saturday. The Falcons rallied to win four singles matches after losing the double point. Three Falcons, sophomore Lance Wilhelm (No. 1) and freshmen Andy Jackson (No. 2) and Alex Grubbs (No. 4) are each 4-0 in singles play this spring. Meanwhile, Wilhelm and Jackson, the seventh-ranked doubles team in the Mountain Region, are 3-1 at the top doubles spot.
New Mexico State is 2-4 entering its match on Friday against 40th-ranked Denver.
