The Air Force men's tennis team opens Mountain West Conference play on Thursday, March 10 by hosting the UNLV Rebels at the Academy. The match, which will be played on AFA's Indoor Courts, is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and is open to the public.
The Falcons are riding a four-match winning streak, including a pair of 5-2 wins over Lamar and Weber State at home last weekend. UNLV is 11-6 this season after falling to 32nd-ranked Nebraska, 4-3, in Denver last Saturday.
Sophomore Lance Wilhelm continues to lead the Falcons, posting a 9-1 record at the No. 1 singles spot. He suffered his only loss of the spring campaign last Friday against Denis Ermilov of Lamar, falling 4-6, 7-6(7), (10-6), but rebounded to beat Simon Unger of Weber State, 6-4, 7-5 on Sunday.
Wilhelm and freshman Andy Jackson have also had a great run in doubles with a 7-3 record at the top spot.
