WALNUT, Calif. - As one of only three collegiate athletes in the 14-member "elite" hammer throw field at the 53rd Mt. SAC Relays, Air Force junior Robert Drye recorded the second-farthest throw of his career (201'0") at the annual event on Saturday, April 16. Drye was the only Falcon to compete on the final day of Mt. SAC action in Walnut, Calif.
It is the third time in four meets this season that Drye has surpassed the 200-foot mark in the hammer throw.
Air Force returns to action next Saturday (Apr. 23), when it travels to Fort Collins, Colo. - site of the 2011 Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships - for the Jack Christiansen Invitational.
