Falcons Conclude Action at Glenn Morris Multi-Meet

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Four athletes from the Air Force track and field team concluded competition this afternoon (Friday, Apr. 22) at the Glenn Morris Multi-Meet in Fort Collins, Colo. Freshman Brad Hackert led the quartet with a fourth-place finish in the decathlon, while classmate Jamie Hart debuted in ninth on the program's all-time heptathlon list with 3,983 points.
Hackert finished fourth with 5,767 points, while classmate Zeb Kimball placed fifth with 5,389 points.
Hackert's best finish of the final day came in the discus throw, as he tossed a personal-best 112'5". He also finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (16.23) and javelin throw (142'5"), while placing fourth in the pole vault (season-debut, 11'5") and sixth in the 1500-meter run (season-debut, 5:17.95).
Kimball made his collegiate debut in four of today's five events. His best finish of the day came in the javelin throw, where he tossed a 149'8". He also placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (career-best, 16.44) and 1500-meter run (5:09.82), while adding a fifth-place finish in the discus throw (100'0") and sixth in the pole vault (9'5½").
On the women's side, Hart accounted 3,983 points in her heptathlon debut to debut in ninth on the program's all-time list and finish ninth at the Glenn Morris Multi-Meet. Hart recorded personal-best marks in two of three events, including a seventh-place finish in the javelin throw (91'9") and an 11th-place finish in the long jump (14'11½"). Rounding out the events for Hart was an 11th-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:42.04).
Junior Phaelen French placed 11th in the seven-event competition with a two-day total of 3,740 points. Highlighting her day was a runner-up in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:27.39. She also posted season-best marks in the javelin throw (89'2", eighth) and long jump (15'9", ninth).
The Air Force hammer throwers will compete this evening to start the Jack Christiansen Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., while the rest of the team opens competition at that meet tomorrow (Saturday, Apr. 23).
