Air Force Downed At BYU Friday, 10-1

PROVO, Utah - Air Force baseball dropped a 10-1 Mountain West Conference ballgame at BYU Friday night at Larry H. Miller Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 12-19, 0-7, while the Cougars improved to 17-12, 5-3.
BYU scored three in the first and five in the second to take a commanding 8-1 lead after the first two innings. The Cougars had 13 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Stephen Wells led BYU, going 5-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Alex Wolfe added a three-run homer.
Air Fore had ninehits in the game, with nine players with one hit. Alex Bast and Garrett Custons hit doubles for the Falcons. Seth Kline had an RBI-single to score Bast for AFA's lone run in the second inning.
Falcon starting pitcher Evan Abrecht (5-3) took the loss, pitching 3.2 innings. Freshman Cameron White had his best outing of the season, holding BYU to one hit over 3.1 innings in relief. Jack Hourin pitched the eighth, striking out all three batters faced.
BYU starter Chris Capper (3-2) picked up the win, allowing one run in seven innings pitched.
