Davidson moved to 1-0 following its season opener while the Falcons fell to 1-1.McGue opened the scoring just 4:40 into the game when he popped up behind the Falcon defense, took a pass from Alex Givens and beat AFA goalie Matt Underwood from about 16 yards out. McGue also had a hand in Davidson's second goal, sending a pass to Gabe Rivera in the box and Rivera's shot deflected off a Falcon defender and into the net.The game was delayed approximately 90 minutes during halftime due to a lightning storm and torrential rain. The Falcons held a 21-8 shot advantage in the game.Davidson goalie Chip Sanders made four saves, including two big ones in the second half. In the 60th minute, Air Force's Brian Klazura found himself open down the right side of the box and sent a shot toward the net that Sanders stopped with his right leg, then Sanders made a point-blank save on AFA's John Melcher that was then cleared off the line by Greg Macnamara.AFA's Kevin Durr led all players with six shots, while teammate Garrett Getschow had four, including one with four minutes left that got past Sanders but just missed the far post. McGue and Thomas Zimmerson each had a team-high two shots for the Wildcats.
