USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force boxing team opened the Wing Open Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 9, with one preliminary bout. In the only bout of the night, Jose Rodriguez defeated his CS-34 teammate for a spot in the 156-pound quarterfinals.

Rodriguez used his strength and inside work to out-hustle and out-score Alex Kim.

The Wing Open action continues next week with quarterfinal action on Feb. 15.
