Falcons Host Central Arkansas in Exhibition Game on Saturday

The Air Force men's soccer team takes to the field for the first time this season when it hosts Central Arkansas in an exhibition game on Saturday, Auhgust 18 at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and admission is free for all fans.
The Falcons are coming off a 12-6-2 campaign in 2011, the team's first winning season since 2003 and the most wins in one season since 1997. Head coach Doug Hill enters his sixth season at the helm and he has 19 letterwinners and nine starters returning from last season.
Senior Kevin Durr leads the way this season after pacing the team in scoring last year with 22 points on six goals and 10 assists. His 10 assists ranked second in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and seventh nationally. Durr was a first-team all-MPSF permformer and an all-West region selection last year.
Fellow senior Matt Underwood also returns as the team's starting goalkeeper. He posted an excellent 0.97 goals-against average last season, good for third in the conference. He also recorded five shutouts, the most by a Falcon keeper in one season since Mike Brophy had six in 2001. Underwood finished second in the MPSF with 80 saves and produced a career-high 11 saves in a scoreless tie at Denver.
Air Force opens the 2012 regular season on Saturday, August 25 against service-academy rival Army in West Point, N.Y., beginning at 7 p.m. (ET).
