RENO, Nev. - With a career-best clearance of 15'3", Air Force freshman Tyler Ginger placed fourth in his section of the pole vault at the annual Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nev., on Saturday, Jan. 18. Ginger was one of four Air Force freshmen to compete at the two-day event for pole vaulters at the Reno Livestock Center.
Improving his overall height by two inches, Ginger finished fourth overall and matched for the third-best clearance in the second group of collegiate vaulters. Kyle Pater also competed in that session, placing 10th overall with clearance of 14'7¼".
Two members of the women's team - freshmen Zoe Casteel and Addy Neibauer - also competed at the Pole Vault Summit, but were unable to clear their opening heights.
