Grant Hamilton Named Air Force Athlete of the Week

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - After breaking his own Academy record in the shot put during last week's season-opening meet, junior Grant Hamilton was named the Air Force Athlete of the Week on Monday, Dec. 15. This is the second such award for the Idabel, Okla., native.

At the Air Force Holiday Open on Friday, Dec. 12, Hamilton tossed an indoor-best distance of 59'5½" to win the shot put by nearly five feet. In addition to breaking the previous Academy standard by six inches on his final attempt, Hamilton also shattered the program's Junior Class Record, bettering the prior mark by nearly two feet.

The Falcons are off from competition until Friday, Jan. 9, when they host the Air Force Holiday Open.
