Jax Named Sports Madness MW Player of the Week

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Freshman RHP/DH Griffin Jax was named College Sports Madness Mountain West Player of the Week for competition during the week of Feb. 17-23. Jax led Air Force baseball to a 2-1 weekend against Navy at the 2014 Freedom Classic in Kinston, NC.
On Sunday, Jax pitched seven innings, allowing one unearned run to earn and striking out seven his first career-win in a 9-1 victory. After allowing the run in the first, the right hander followed up with six consecutive scoreless innings. Jax also helped himself as the team's cleanup hitter, scoring the game-winning run. The Greenwood Village, CO, native went 1-for-3 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs.
