
Air Force Falls 5-1 Friday at Nevada

RENO, Nev. - Air Force baseball dropped a 5-1 ballgame at Nevada Friday afternoon at Peccole Park. The Falcons dropped to 4-16, 1-6 on the season and the Wolf Pack improved to 10-11, 4-6.
Air Force broke up a scoreless game with a run in the top of the fifth. Nevada responded with a two-run homer by first baseman Austin Byler in the bottom of the inning. The Wolf Pack extended their lead with a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Nevada starting pitcher Michael Fain (3-1) tossed a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out four.
Air Force starting pitcher Cameron White (1-4) worked seven innings, striking out six, in the loss. Bo Wilson pitched a scoreless eighth inning in relief.
Shortstop Russell Williams, who reached on a base hit, scored Air Force's run off an RBI-single by right fielder Spencer Draws. Third baseman Tyler Saleck added a double and Seth Kline also had a base hit.
Byler led Nevada's 10-hit attack with two hits, a triple, two runs and two RBIs.
Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST.
