
Falcons Fall Sunday at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. - Air Force baseball dropped a 11-1 Mountain West ballgame at Fresno State Sunday at Beiden Field. The Falcons dropped to 15-28, 5-16 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 24-21, 11-13.
A five-run fourth inning broke up a 1-1 tie ballgame for Fresno State.
The Falcons had eight hits in the game. Right fielder Spencer Draws led way, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and third baseman Noah Pierce went 2-for-4. Left fielder Tyler Jones, catcher Travis Neubeck and shortstop Russell Wilson also had base hits.
Starting pitcher Steven Trojan (2-6) pitched 5.1 innings, striking out three in the loss. Ben Yokley, Trent Monaghan and Nathan Stanford closed out the game in relief.
Fresno State had 16 hits in the game. Third baseman Manny Argomaniz went 3-for-5 with two homers and right fielder Jordan Luplow went 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
Starting pitcher Derick Velazquez (3-4) pitched five innings, striking out four in the win.
The Falcons jumped a head early in the game with a run in the first inning. Fresno State tied the game up with a run in the second. The Bulldogs jumped a head with the big fourth inning to lead 6-1. Fresno State added a run in the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday at Northern Colorado.
