
Air Force Drops Saturday Contest With Nevada

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball (1-12, 0-2 Mountain West) dropped a 76-53 contest to Nevada (5-7, 1-0 MW) in Mountain West action Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena.
A slow start had the Falcons playing catch-up throughout the game. Air Force trailed 37-14 at the half before rallying to draw even in scoring, 39-39, in the second.
Senior captains Lindsey Lewis and Jimi Blagowsky paced the Falcons in scoring for the second-straight game. Lewis scored 13 points, to go with four rebounds and three assists. Blagowsky added 10 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Forward Nyasha LeSure scored a game-high 18 points off the bench to lead Nevada. The Wolf Pack out-rebounded the Falcons 46-31 and shot 49.2 percent from the field.
Air Force also had eight points, three assists and four steals from freshman Cortney Porter. Junior Madeleine Philpot scored seven points and had two blocked shots. Freshman Dee Bennett had a team-high seven rebounds.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 7, at San José State. Tipoff, at The Events Center in San José, Calif., is 7 pm (PT).
