Falcons host multi-team swimming meet, Oct. 24

The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams host a multi-team meet, Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons will compete against North Dakota (men and women), Colorado Mines (men and women), Colorado Mesa (men and women) and CSU Pueblo (women only) in the one-day meet that will be live-streamed at GoAirForceFalcons.com (link is on the swimming schedules).
The women's team is 4-3 overall after a multi-team meet in Pensacola, Fla., last weekend. Junior Genevieve Miller earned Mountain West swimmer of the week honors as she helped lead the Falcons to wins over West Florida and Arkansas-Little Rock. Originally from Winston-Salem, N.C., Miller has posted Top-10 times in the Mountain West in four events this season. She ranks No. 8 in the nation in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:19.40 in her victory against Tulane, UALR and West Florida on Oct. 16. She also holds the top time in the MW in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 10:27.88 with the win against New Mexico on Oct. 9. Miller moved to third in the league with a time of 4:57.90 in the 500-yard freestyle at the West Florida meet on Oct. 17.
The men's team is 2-0 overall this season. The Falcons, idle last weekend, opened the season with victories over BYU and Colorado Mesa at the Colorado Intermountain Shootout, Oct. 9-10. Senior Michael Barnosky won four events, and was part of several winning relay teams, in the two-day meet. Jordan Dahle won two events and was also part of several winning relay teams. Several Falcons rank among the best in the Western Athletic Conference. Dahle ranks first in the 100 free and is second in the 50 free. Andrew Faciszewski ranks first in the 500 free and 400 IM and is second in the 1650 free. Kevin Jackson ranks first in the 1650 free. Barnosky ranks first in the 100 and 200 breast stroke and is second in the 200 IM. Sean Ledford is second in the 200 fly.
Following this weekend's home meet, the Falcons travel to Honolulu for a dual against the University of Hawaii, Friday, Oct. 30. --30--
