CHENEY, Wash. - Air Force women's basketball dropped its non-conference tilt at Eastern Washington (2-0) Sunday afternoon at Reese Court. The Falcons were led by guards Cortney Porter and Sydney Graham, who combined for 22 points.
In the 65-44 setback, the Falcons (0-2) hung tough, but the sister duo of Delaney and Hayley Hodgins proved too much. The two combined for 34 points, with Hayley scoring a game-high 20 points and Delaney adding 14.
Porter led the Falcons in scoring for the second-straight game, adding three assists and four steals. Porter connected on what appeared to be a full-court basket as time expired in the third quarter. Upon video review, her basket was overturned after officials determined the clock had expired before she completed releasing the ball.
Graham had a team-high four assists in 37 minutes on the floor. Sophomore forward/guard Dee Bennett added eight points and six rebounds.
Junior forward Myah Jackson had six points in 11 minutes. Freshman forward Cheyenne Wall posted six rebounds to go with five points. Freshman guard Vanessannah Itugbu and sophomore center Maggie Borngesser pulled down six rebounds each.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 18, hosting Denver in the home opener. Tip time, at Clune Arena, is 7 pm.
