Miller swims Olympic Trials qualifying time in 400 free

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. -- Air Force junior Genevieve Miller qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 400-meter free as she swam a 4:15.16 in the prelims at the USA Winter Nationals, Thursday, Dec. 3, in Seattle, Wash.
In the finals, Miller swam a 4:17.84 to place 15th out of 55 swimmers. She entered the event seeded 38th and improved her ranking by 23 places.
Sophomore Maria Schroeder will swim the 100 butterfly on Friday. Miller and senior Sara Menke will swim the 800 free on Saturday.
Miller ranks first in the Mountain West in the 500 yard, 1000 yard and 1650 yard freestyle. Menke ranks seventh in the league in the 500, ninth in the 1000 and fourth in the 1650 free. Schroeder ranks fourth in the Mountain West in the 100 yard butterfly.
In the USASwimming.com national rankings, Miller ranks 14th in the 500 free and eighth in the 1650 free.
