
Air Force Drops Saturday Game at UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Air Force women's basketball (2-23, 1-13 Mountain West) dropped a 82-61 contest at UNLV (10-13, 7-5 MW) in Mountain West action Saturday afternoon at Cox Pavilion. Air Force was led by seniors Jimi Blagowsky and Lindsey Lewis, who combined for 38 points.
UNLV got to the free throw line 38 times and out-rebounded Air Force 62-39. Alana Cesarz led the Lady Rebels with 24 points. Danielle Miller added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Blagowsky notched a team-high 20 points for the Falcons, hitting 8-of-20 shots from the field and adding three three-point baskets. Lewis scored 18 and grabbed six rebounds.
Freshman Cortney Porter added eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists. She now has 101 assists on the season, becoming just the eighth Falcon in the Div. I era to surpass the 100 assist mark in a season. Freshman Dee Bennett added seven rebounds and an Air Force season-high four blocked shots.
The Falcons kept the game close in the first-half, trailing by six at 34-28. UNLV went on to score 48 in the second-half to Air Force's 33.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting Colorado State. Tipoff, at Clune Arena, is 2 pm. The Falcons are slated to wear their pink uniforms for Breast Cancer Awareness.
