
Air Force Baseball Falls 6-0 At Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Air Force baseball dropped a 6-0 non-conference game at Missouri Tuesday night at Taylor Stadium at Simmons Field. The Falcons dropped to 8-10 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 16-4.
Missouri plated all six runs in the first three innings and three pitchers combined to hold AFA to three hits. The Tigers scored two in the first, three in the second and one in the third.
John Miles (1-0) pitched six scoreless innings, striking out four in the win for Missouri. The Tigers had eight hits in the game. Shortstop Ryan Howard went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Mizzou.
Freshman Ryan Holloway (0-2) took the loss, working two innings in the loss for the Falcons. Freshman Michael Rieker, a St. Louis native, worked four innings in relief, allowing one run. Freshman Nick Biancalana made his collegiate debut for AFA, working 1.2 scoreless innings. Ben Yokley retired one batter as the final reliever for the Falcons.
Third baseman Noah Pierce, second baseman Tyler Zabojnik and catcher Travis Wilkie had base hits for the Falcons. Right fielder Spencer Draws drew three walks and left fielder Tyler Jones stole a base. Centerfielder Adam Groesbeck went 0-for-4 on the night, snapping his 14 game hitting streak.
Game two of the series is tomorrow. First pitch is 4 pm CT.
