
Air Force Drops Opener at Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Air Force baseball dropped an 8-0 game at Army West Point Friday night at Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field. The loss dropped the Falcons to 19-24 and improved the Black Knights to 21-24. It was Air Force's first-ever baseball game played at West Point.
Army West Point starting pitcher Alex Robinett (6-5) tossed a three hit shutout. Robinett set a school record by striking out 21.
The Black Knights scored four runs in the second and two in the fourth and eighth innings. Army West Point had 11 hits. Leadoff hitter Rosoff had two hits and two RBIs.
Air Force starting pitcher Griffin Jax (3-8) pitched 7.1 innings, striking out seven in the loss. Freshman Joe Kincart retired two batters in relief.
The Falcons had base hits from rightfielder Spencer Draws, third baseman Noah Pierce and catcher Travis Wilkie.
Game two the three-game set is tomorrow. First pitch is 4 p.m. ET.
