
Adam Groesbeck Earns Baseball MVP Honors

Sophomore centerfielder Adam Groesbeck was named team MVP for Air Force baseball in 2015. Junior Trent Monaghan earned team pitcher of the year and senior Tyler Saleck earned the Falcon Leadership Award.
Groesbeck was one of the top leadoff hitters in the Mountain West, earning second-team all-conference honors. The Turlock, Calif., native batted .338 on the season, leading the conference with 25 doubles and 21 stolen bases. His 25 doubles currently ranks amongst the top 10 in the NCAA and is second most in a season at Air Force. Groesbeck also cracked Air Force's all-time top 10 list in at bats (4th - 222). The sophomore led Air Force in five offensive categories.
Monaghan also had a standout season on the mound for the Falcons. The lefthander from Coral Springs, Fla., posted a 5-6 record and a 2.75 earned run average for the Falcons. His 2.75 ERA is the seventh-lowest all-time at Air Force and the lowest since 1982. Monaghan also set a school record with a 3.65 ERA in Mountain West play. The lefty ranked in the MW top 10 in wins, ERA, strikeouts and innings pitched.
Saleck, a four-year starter, earned Air Force baseball's Leadership Award. The senior started all 52 games at first base for the Falcons. The Leesburg, Va., native currently leads the conference in both putouts (534) and total chances (584). Saleck batted .276 on the season with 55 hits and 28 RBIs.
Falcon baseball posted a 23-29 season in 2015, its winningest season since 2002 and the second-best winning percentage (.442) in 20 years. The 22 Div. I wins set a new school record.
