
Falcons Wrap up Second Day of NCAA West Prelim

AUSTIN, Texas - The Air Force track and field team wrapped up the second day of competition at the West Preliminary of the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 29, in Austin, Texas. Two Falcons competed in the national semifinals of their respective field events, while one took part in a first-round event on the track at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Junior Grant Hamilton posted the trio's best finish of the day, as he placed 23rd in the shot put with a throw of 58'4¾". Competing in their first national preliminary meet, freshman Jamiel Trimble placed 29th in the 110-meter hurdles (14.22, wind-aided) and sophomore Cydnee Reese finished 36th in the discus throw (158'4").
The Falcons conclude the West Prelim meet tomorrow (May 30) with the 1500-meter run, 5000-meter run and pole vault.
