Russell Williams Earns Academic All-District Baseball Honors

Sophomore Russell Williams of Air Force baseball earned Capital One Academic All-District Honors as voted on by members of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Williams earned First-Team All-District 7 honors.
Williams, a McKinney, Texas, native is a Economics major, maintaining a 3.87 grade point average. The shortstop earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar Athlete honors as a freshman in 2014. Williams has played in 29 games for the Falcons this season and is fourth on the team with two home runs and sixth with four stolen bases.
Williams is Air Force baseball's first academic all-district honoree since Josh Meents in 2006.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month and in early June.
