
Former Falcons Set to Compete at USATF Championships

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Three graduates of the Air Force track and field program will compete at the 2015 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week (June 25-28) in Eugene, Oregon. Paige Blackburn, Annette (Eichenberger) Melcher and Joey Uhle will represent the Falcons’ alumni group during the four-day meet at Historic Hayward Field.
Melcher, a 2014 graduate, will participate in the 800-meter run, while Joey Uhle (Class of 2015) and Paige Blackburn (Class of 2012) will compete in the pole vault and javelin throw, respectively.
Thursday, June 25
3:40 p.m.: Women’s 800-Meter Run (First Round) - Melcher
Friday, June 26
7:00 p.m.: Women’s Javelin Throw (Trials and Finals) – Blackburn
8:27 p.m.: Women’s 800-Meter Run (Semifinals)
Saturday, June 27
11:50 a.m.: Men’s Pole Vault (Finals) – Uhle
Sunday, June 28
1:48 p.m.: Women’s 800-Meter Run (Finals)
Melcher qualified to the national meet after clocking a career-best 2:02.32 during a runner-up performance at the Music City Distance Carnival earlier this month, while Uhle earned his entry with his Academy-record jump of 18’2½” at the Air Force Invitational this past January. Blackburn qualified for the national meet with a career-best throw of 170’6”.
The 2015 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be broadcast on a variety of platforms, including USATF.tv, which will broadcast continually throughout the championship meet.
