Track and Field Opens Practice, Announces Class of 2019

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force track and field team added 43 freshmen to its roster for the upcoming 2015-16 season, which officially kicked off today (Sept. 28) with the first day of in-season practice. The 25 men and 18 women that make up the Falcons’ youngest class of athletes boast a combined resume that features 26 state titles, as well as numerous top-10 finishes at their respective state meets.
Trevor Siniscalshi | San Diego, Calif. | Westview HS | Distances
Finished seventh at the California CIF State Championships with a career-best 3200-meter time of 9:06.90...ran a 4:15.49 to win the 2015 ASICS Mt. Carmel Invitational...placed third at the CIF Division II Cross Country Championships as a senior...two-time CIF San Diego Section champion at 3200 meters.
Jacob Bilvado | Visalia, Calif. | El Diamante HS | Distances
Used a career-best time of 9:10.17 to win 3200-meter section at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in 2015...posted a career-best 1600-meter time of 4:20.13...finished sixth at the 2014 California CIF Division II Cross Country Championships.
Mickey Davey | Troy, Mich. | De La Salle Collegiate HS | Distances
Finished fifth in the 3200-meter run at the Michigan LP-1 State Championships with a career-best time of 9:11.23...clocked a career-best 4:15.36 in the 1600-meter run...placed 13th in the Footlocker Midwest Regional during the 2014 cross country season.

Idaho 2A state champion in the discus throw...used a throw of 180’2” to claim the state title...holds personal-best marks of 53’0¼” in the shot put and 163’3” in the hammer throw.
Micah Fontaine | Edmond, Okla. | Edmond Memoral HS | Hurdles
Two-time Oklahoma 6A champion in the 110-meter hurdles...clocked a wind-aided time of 14.02 to repeat his title in 2015...holds a career-best (legal wind) time of 14.37...also claimed the state title in the 60-meter hurdles at the Oklahoma Indoor Championships as a senior...finished second in the 300-meter hurdles at the 2014 state meet after posting a career-best time of 38.24.
Walker Newell | Gillette, Wyo. | Campbell County HS | Hurdles, Pole Vault
Won three events at the 2015 Wyoming 4A state championships – the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and pole vault...recorded career-best hurdle times of 14.40 (110 meters), 38.40 (300 meters)...cleared a career-best 15’1” in the pole vault at the 2015 Air Force High School Open...also finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at that meet...clocked a career-best 60-meter hurdles time of 8.15 to place fourth at the Simplot Games.

Place third at the Texas UIL 5A State Championships in the 3200-meter run...posted a career-best time of 9:18.20 at that distance...finished third in the 1600-meter run (4:15.45) at the Texas Relays...won the mile at the Texas A&M Indoor Classic.

Washington High School State 3A champion in the discus throw...recorded a career-best 172’11” in that event...posted a personal-best distance of 54’0½” in the shot put.

Three-time Colorado 3A state champion in the 100-meter dash...recorded a career-best time of 10.86...also took home a state title in the 200-meter dash after clocking a time of 21.95...finished first in both the 60-meter dash (6.85) and 200-meter dash (22.31) at the Air Force High School Open.

Recorded a career-best time of 48.11 to finish second in the 400-meter dash at the Arizona Meet of Champions...finished fifth in that distance at the Arizona Division I State Championships...spent the 2014-15 academic year at the Academy’s Prep School.

Transfer from Arkansas State University...ran 4:14.20 to finish sixth at the 2014 Ohio Division I State Championships.

West Virginia AAA state champion at 1600 meters after clocking a time of 4:18.26...finished seventh at the West Virginia High School Cross Country Championships...also has a personal-best time of 1:56.24 at 800 meters.
Nathan Thomas | Tucson, Ariz. | Salpointe Catholic HS | Distances
Arizona Division II cross country champion...also finished second in his division at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational...recorded a career-best time of 4:23.38 at 1600 meters.
Garrett Coalson | Eaton, Colo. | Eaton HS | Throws
Won the Colorado 3A state title in the discus throw after recording a toss of 163’3”.
Gordon Kowalkowski | Kailua, Hawaii | Punahou School | Distances
Hawaii state champion in the 800-meter run...clocked a career-best time of 1:55.29 in that event.
Joe and Tom Ernst (Glendale, Ariz./Mountain Ridge HS), Sam Hinegardner (Wapakoneta, Ohio/Wapakoneta HS), Reece Pontius (Mason, Ohio/William Mason HS), John Quinn (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS), Nikolai Rhodes (Grasonville, Md./Queen Anne’s County HS), Noah Riley (Littleton, Colo./Lakewood HS), Preston Roche (Fort Collins, Colo./Poudre HS), Parker Seale (Glendora, Calif./Glendora HS) and Tim Ward (Springfield, Va./West Springfield HS) also joined the men’s team.

Four-time Virginia 3A state champion in the pole vault (twice indoors, twice outdoors)...recorded a career-best vault of 13’0¾” during a sixth-place finish at the New Balance Indoor Nationals last winter...also ran 15.22 in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing third at the state championships.

Clocked a time of 43.64 in the 300-meter hurdles at the California CIF State Championship preliminary round...won the CIF North Coast Section Meet of Champions in that event...also recorded a wind-aided 100-meter hurdles time of 15.03.

Recorded a career-best time of 2:14.12 in the 800-meter run at Illinois’ Nike Festival of Miles this past June...clocked a career-best 1600-meter time of 5:21.41.
Kaliyah Gorman | Huntingtown, Md. | Huntingrown HS | Hurdles, Sprints
Finished second in the 300-meter hurdles at the Maryland 3A State Championships...recorded a career-best time of 44.54 in that event...ran 1:03.85 in the 400-meter hurdles at the USATF National Junior Olympics...holds a 400-meter dash time of 57.47.

Won the 3000-meter run (10:45.14) at the Oklahoma High School Indoor Invitational...placed fifth in the 3200 meters at the 2015 Oklahoma 6A state championship meet...recorded career-best times of 4:52.49 (1500-meter run), 5:16.66 (1600-meter run), 11:11.58 (3200-meter run).

Four-time 1600-meter champion at the Nevada Division III State High School Championships...clocked a career-best time of 5:19.60 at that distance...also ran on the state champion 4x400-meter and 4x800-meter relay teams.

Two-time Oklahoma 4A high school state champion in the pole vault...recorded five clearances of 12’0”.
Shanna Burns | Pinon Hills, Calif. | Serrano HS | Distances
Recorded a personal-best time of 5:15.25 in the 1600-meter run.
